Everyone in my husband’s family loves a good cup of coffee. And whenever they have a family gathering, there are bound to be coffee served. They even have debates and discussions on how to brew the best coffee. And once a year, they hold a “family members only” competition to determine who brewed the best espresso. I am not kidding you. The rules are simple. Everyone uses the same Gaggia espresso machines. But each gets to select their choice of coffee beans. So it is a case of battle of barista skills and selection of beans.

This year’s competition is going to be held in a month’s time. My husband has already started practicing and trying to find his “God shot”. He came close to winning last year, losing to his brother. This year, he wants to win the title. Meanwhile, I had to help him drink all those espresso that he had made and I am not sure if I can last till next month!
